Baldwin County Public Schools is beginning to roll out a new requirement for using district email and Office 365 resources when off-campus. When connected to a non-BCBE network, employees will be prompted for a second step of verification when accessing BCBE.org email or other Office 365 apps. Please see the guide below for instructions on set-up and use.
Two-step verification is an additional security step that helps protect your account by making it harder for other people to break in. If you're reading this article, you probably got an email about Multi-Factor Authentication. Or maybe you tried to sign in and got a message asking you to set up additional security verification. If that's the case, you cannot sign in until you have completed the auto-enrollment process.
Set up your account
Go to https://mybcbe.rapididentity.com/ and log in with your network username and password.
Click on either the BCBE E-Mail or Office365 tile.
When your account is required to start using multi-factor authentication, you'll see a screen that says: More information required - Your organization needs more information to keep your account secure.
To get started, select Next.
Decide how you want to verify your sign-ins
The first question in the enrollment process is how you want us to contact you. Take a look at the options in the table, and use the links to go to the setup steps for each method.
|- Receive notifications for verification. This option pushes a notification to the authenticator app on your smartphone or tablet. View the notification and, if it is legitimate, select Approve in the app.
- Use verification code. In this mode, the authenticator app generates a verification code that updates every 30 seconds. Enter the most current verification code in the sign-in interface.
The Microsoft Authenticator app is available for Android and iOS.
|Mobile phone call or text
|- Phone call places an automated voice call to the phone number you provide. Answer the call and press # in the phone keypad to authenticate.
- Text message ends a text message containing a verification code. Following the prompt in the text, either reply to the text message or enter the verification code provided into the sign-in interface.

|DO NOT USE: Multi-Factor Authentication will not be required while connected to the BCBE network.
