Students transferring to Baldwin County from another district will bring some type of grade with them. If they transfer between quarters the appropriate grades will be given to the teacher to use in manually averaging the correct term. (e.g. A student transfers in to a high school 2nd quarter and brings a grade with them. That grade will be given to the teacher to manually average the student's first semester grade. That semester grade will need to be manually entered into the grade book.) If they transfer in during another week of the quarter there is a formula that can be used to find their average.
For students transferring within district, or from a school system that uses the same grading scale as Baldwin County, a weighted average will be used to determine quarterly grades. In order to honor the work the student completed at his/her previous school, grades need to be weighted accordingly. The templates below will auto-calculate quarter averages for transfer students.
